Meet Samantha Bond
EXPERIENCED
Samantha Bond Richman has been advising business owners on the merits of outsourcing since 1990. Samantha worked to establish herself as a solid producer of business relationships with new introductions that were frequently fueled by satisfied client referral. She impressed her employers, and was invited to purchase limited stock ownership, and when the PEO company (then known as employee leasing) she worked for was sold, she went into business as an independent advisor. Her first company, S.B. Recommend was formed in 2002.
LICENSED AND INSURED
Samantha immersed herself in learning the ways of business, and strategically decided to earn her Florida 2-15 Life, Health and Variable Annuity Insurance License in 1992. This requires hours of coursework, bi-annual continuing education, and appointment by carriers willing to entrust certain fiduciary responsibilities with the license holder. In addition, Sam Bond Benefit Group is insured for general liability, and Samantha carries industry specific errors and omissions insurance. Samantha has been issued reciprocal insurance licensure in multiple states, including Georgia and Virginia. Other “PEO consultants” may not be licensed, and some focus on short term sales transactions, rather than creating solutions. Samantha remains steadfast and responsive to her clients, developing trust that lasts.
PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATION
Sam Bond Benefit Group provides superior client representation by maintaining important professional membership in the largest PEO industry association, the National Association of Professional Employer Organizations (NAPEO). In additional to industry resources, Sam uses her association membership to get to know the companies she is doing business with on behalf of business owner clients she advises. She learns what to expect from legislation, current events and other changes driving industry trends.
Samantha is also a member of the National Association of Benefits and Insurance Professionals (NABIP). Maintaining NABIP membership reflects the deep appreciation Samantha has for the importance of the employee benefits plans she provides to the clients she serves. She has experienced first-hand some of the biggest changes in the health insurance industry over the last 32 years, especially when the Healthcare Reform Act became a reality in 2014. As an independent, experienced agent, she can help clearly compare benefits within a PEO relationship to the benefits purchased directly from the carrier by a small group.
EDUCATION
Educated at the University of South Florida (USF), Samantha has a BA in Mass Communications. She likes to write creatively and frequently publishes blog posts on various media outlets including LinkedIn, Facebook and this site. She finds journalism is a satisfying hobby, and currently reports for the Northeast Journal, a hometown newspaper local to her in St. Petersburg, Florida.
PERSONAL
Sam, as friends call her, moved to Tampa in 1986 from her childhood hometown of College Park, MD. She graduated from USF in 1988. After a twelve-year marriage ended, Sam raised two awesome children who each attended FSU, and went on to complete graduate degrees.
Sam moved herself and her business from Tampa to St. Petersburg in 2014. In 2017, she married Tim Richman, owner of several successful steel fabrication plants. Sam and Tim have 4 grown children (2 each from previous marriage) and 3 grandchildren (Tim’s side so far) in their blended family spread across 4 states from Rhode Island to Florida. They both like to golf, fish, and travel when they can.
